For me, 2013 started out with a New Year’s Resolution to be more pro-active and involved in the community. I felt it was time to stop waiting for change, and to begin creating it in meaningful ways.
Over the course of the year, that desire to help in a more concrete way began to pair with my commitment to the quality of life that is enhanced through a strong public school system. Building and sustaining a sense of “pulling together” – everyday – is one of my primary goals in seeking election to the District 11 School Board.
A long career in academic and non-profit environments gives me a unique perspective, as well as a calling for public service. As a small business owner, I’m interested in a results-oriented public education system that makes the best use of our collective investments as taxpayers – to build strong workforce, entrepreneurship, and economic growth.
